Drum Beat of Uganda assists HIV/AIDS
orphaned, war conflict affected
children and those from very poor backgrounds to develop their talents in
performance arts. As well as their training as musicians, singers and
dancers in the performance group,
the organization provides a home to accommodate them, pays
their school fees, feeds them and meets their day-to-day requirements.
The Drum Beat of Uganda Organization, led
by Director Kibi Kaggwa Patrick, is presently helping 40 orphaned children
ranging in ages 12
through 19 from all the above
mentioned categories. It is the only organization in southern Uganda that
caters to orphans by giving them a life self sustaining skill.
The children are not limited to only study performance related ventures.
They are also trained in other skills that can lead them to professionalism.
